of the US Army.
Longbow is carrying stores specified by the customer, and is seen just after takeoff while transitioning to forward flight. The pilot is seen in the rear cockpit wearing flying helmet with customized paintjob (taken from photos supplied). The lady in the artwork is the Copilot/Gunner. She is dressed in combat full flight gear with custom painted helmet under her arm. She is seem hitching a lift back home to Weigenheim USA. Commissioned as a leaving gift to the lady in the picture by her unit. Original artwork measure 14"x19" overall. Black ink/watercolour/gouache/chalk pastel on 2mm white board. |
